A Spectacular September for AFLSE Boston
Dear Reader,
LOTS going on this month, with something sure to please for all alumni and friends!
We begin at noon on Tuesday 6 September with a special mixer, featuring Will Breare-Hall, LSE's eminent leader of Student Recruitment and Study Abroad. This is informal networking at the Elephant & Castle, and comes with another special treat: Bill Bailey is coming to Boston, and if you mix with Will, you can participate in this ticket giveaway:
Following a sellout run in London, Bill Bailey is bringing his Dandelion Mind show to
Remember to say hello to Will, and join the Bill Bailey ticket giveaway!
The highlight of the month comes on Friday, 23 September, when David Stevenson, Professor of International History, joins us. You can have a look at his new book, With Our Backs to the Wall: Victory and Defeat in 1918, then enjoy a lecture in our reserved room in the Elephant & Castle. Professor Stevenson will focus on the book, but it will be especially centered on America's war in 1917-18. He has a lot of new material on the U.S. home front, and economic mobilzation: a topic that is certainly of contemporary relevance.
After the lecture there is plenty of opportunity for informal networking.
We are also very excited to announce the launch of a new AFLSE Careers and Networking initiative.
