AFLSE National Newsletter for June, 2007
Dear Reader,
Chapter leaders may now send newsletters from the website to all local alumni, with news of upcoming activities, plus posting of job opportunities, apartments for rent, etc. This national newsletter distributes information to all alumni in our database on the events which have been arranged by local AFLSE Chapters, or in collaboration with the LSE Foundation. It also updates you on major LSE news items, changes in AFLSE policy and benefits, and new website features. For example, there is now a link, in the lower half of the right hand column of the HOME page, to recent LSE Public Lectures which are available by podcast.
Events for June include: a June 13 talk and reception in Boston by Robert Falkner, Lecturer in International Relations at the LSE, and another in the Washington, DC Speaker Series by alumnus Steven Payson of the Bureau of Economic Analysis on June 27 (to be followed on July 11 with a talk by alumna Margaret McCowan of the National Defense University). You are also invited to mix and mingle with others at social gatherings in San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, Boston and DC (see below for details).
Have you logged on recently to https://www.aflse.org and clicked on the MEMBERSHIP link to review all the benefits now available and/or to renew your membership if it has lapsed. One of the most popular benefits is the discounted subscription to The Economist. If you are not taking advantage of the discount - which is equal to the regular $35 annual AFLSE membership dues - click on the link below.
