AFLSE National Newsletter for August/September
Dear Reader,
July was a busy month, including the sell-out reception for LSE Director, Howard Davies at the British Embassy on July 21. In addition, several chapters - Boston, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Washington, DC - kicked off the AFLSE's popular and highly succesful program of Bon Voyage Parties, which expands from year to year. LSE alumni/ae are encouraged to come and share their experiences of living and studying in London with those offered places for the 2010-11 academic year, and our future alums have the opportunity to meet and network with each other and plan for their new adventure.
For August, eleven more Bon Voyage events are scheduled: Chicago on August 3, Denver and New York on August 5, Miami on August 6, Minneapolis on August 12, San Diego on August 15, Cleveland on August 18, Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth on August 19 and Atlanta and Los Angeles on August 22 - see below for details and try to attend the one in your area.
Following the Bon Voyage season, several chapters have already scheduled social and cultural events. These include an outdoor concert in San Diego on August 25, a Vivaldi Project concert in Washington, DC on September 19, a networking opportunity with the British American Business Council in Boston on September 23, and a visit to the Houston Museum of Fine Art, also on September 23 (see below).
