AFLSE DC July Newsletter
Dear Reader,
We will not be holding a monthly happy hour this month. Instead, members are encouraged to attend the reception with Howard Davies, held on Wednesday, July 21st, at the British Embassy. Very few tickets remain for this event, and must be purchased ahead of time at: http://www.aflse.org/article.html?aid=1268
July also brings the return of the annual Bon Voyage garden party. Alumni are invited to meet with students en route to the LSE, and to share their experiences and give advice on living and studying in London. Students have the opportunity to meet and network with others who are also embarking on the same adventure in the fall. This event, held at the lovely home of one of our alumnae, has become one of the most popular on the DC Chapter calendar. The event will be held on Saturday, July 31st, 2010 from 4:00 to 6:00pm and an advance online RSVP is required: http://www.aflse.org/article.html?aid=1288
Finally, LSE Alumni Meredith Kruse is organizing the American Cancer Society's DetermiNation program for the Marine Corps Marathon on October 31, 2010. The DetermiNation program enables athletes to dedicate their training to the fight against cancer. We provide race entry to the sold out Marine Corps Marathon, excellent training, social events throughout DC, newsletters, mentor support, personalized fundraising website and an authentic. If you are interested in running or volulnteering, please contact Meredith Kruse at meredith.kruse@cancer.org or 202.483.2600 Best wishes for the summer holidays
