AFLSE Newsletter for Students Attending LSE this Fall
Dear Reader,
We have had over 100 of you sign up at our website recently and we would like to welcome you to our organization. LSE alumni want to help all new students with relevant advice where they can. We organize both a number of bon voyage parties around the country as well as sponsor a Facebook page just for new students heading to LSE to facilitate peer communication on all relevant items.
Bon Voyage Parties
As you probably know the Alumni and Friends of the LSE (AFLSE) arranges Bon Voyage parties in many cities of the United States. The link to the list of the events is below. Please be sure to sign up for each event that you wish to attend.
Please join the Face book group that we have created at:
LSE USA New Students Fall 2010
(http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=122395621122534)
Last year the group has a lively discussion about such practical items as accommodation, loans, visas, phone plans and banking.
Banking
AFLSE has an arrangement with Lloyds Bank which allows for you to open your account while still in the United States to facilitate transfers and to avoid complicated account opening requirements in the United Kingdom.
If you open your account with Lloyds by clicking through on our website and we will make you a gift of a one year student membership of the AFLSE. Use the link below for easy access or go to AFLSE.org and look for the article in the News section.
