AFLSE DC - Happy Hour and Volunteer Opportunity

Dear Reader,

The AFLSE DC chapter has several upcoming events:

We will be holding the monthly DC chapter LSE alumni & friends happy hour next week (moved from the third to the fourth Wednesday this month only).  If you have not yet attended a happy hour, these are a fun and popular way to meet fellow alumni in a casual setting, and we hope to see you there. Details:

Date: Wednesday, March 24th, 2010 from 6:00-9:00pm
Location: Vapiano - Dupont Circle, 1800 M Street NW
Space is reserved--look for the LSE signs. No RSVP necessary.

Also, the DC AFLSE chapter will be sending a team of volunteers to participate in the Hands On DC Work-a-Thon this year: Each spring at the annual Work-a-thon, over 2,000 Hands on DC volunteers from across Washington, DC spend one day working in DC public schools on basic improvement projects such as painting, cleaning, landscaping, and special projects like rehabilitating playgrounds. The Work-a-thon this year will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010. Members may sign up now to be part of the AFLSE team by going to https://www.kintera.org/faf/search/searchTeamPart.asp?ievent=340456&lis=1&kntae340456=D7668AA9AE8E497DA87FE0F4372DAE85&supId=247538446&team=3688598 and selecting "Join our Team". Friends and family are welcome to participate.

Questions about the happy hour or Hands on DC team should be directed to Anne Wingate at aawngate@gmail.com.
