AFLSE National Newsletter - January 2010
Dear Reader,
The AFLSE welcomes you to a new decade of events and activities! Starting the year, are social get-togethers in New York, Washington, DC and Los Angeles, together with a traditional British pantomime in the latter (see below).
During 2009, alumni/ae attended more than 200 programs organized by our chapters, and by the LSE Foundation, providing a wide range of academic and policy seminars as well as social activities. Significant among these was the highly successful summer Bon Voyage program, when 16 different chapters arranged events for students, en route to study at the LSE, to meet local alums, to network with each other and become acquainted with the AFLSE and its activities for their return to the US.
In order to assist the chapters in developing and promoting activities, the AFLSE is largely dependent upon your membership. In return, there are many benefits for our members, including preferred pricing for many of our events, and discounts for subscriptions to The Economist, Financial Times and other journals (see below).
LOGIN frequently to http://aflse.org to review events as they are posted and to check on your Membership status. Be sure to start the New Year by ensuring that you are an AFLSE member and taking advantage of all the benefits available.
Discount Subscriptions to Journals The AFLSE offers discount subscription rates for current members to The Economist, Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, Financial Times, and Fortune. |
