Alumni and Friends of the LSE
in the United States

Dear Reader,

Remember, remember the fifth of November,

The gunpowder treason and plot,

I know of no reason

Why the gunpowder treason

Should ever be forgot.

With the color of the leaves changing and fall in the air, the NY Chapter would like to invite you to attend a Guy Fawkes Day celebration at the legendary Landmark Tavern, the historic speakeasy in Manhattan, on November 6th, 2009. This is a great chance to come down and celebrate over drinks and hors d'oeuvres with your LSE friends and classmates. Space is limited at this historic location so signup early. Please click on the link below for full event details and the link to the registration.

Also coming up for the NY Chapter is a lecture with Professor Nikolas Rose on October 15, 2009 at New York University, School of Law. He will be discussing Biopolitcs in an age of Biological Control. We will also be hosting the annual holiday party on December 4th, 2009. Please check the website regularly to keep up with the 1st Mondays in Midtown and 3rd Thursdays downtown. They are a great opportunity to catch up with friends and network.

Also please see the bottom of this email as it contains details about another media event that one of our alumni has invited us to attend. Please visit the New York Chapter page at www.aflse.org for a complete list of upcoming events, including events hosted by the NYBSC.

Please note that all alumni and friends registered with the website are invited to join the special interest groups related to their careers, hobbies, and personal interests. Please visit the chapters and groups tab of the website to find a complete listing of all the groups and log in to the website to register for their individual newsletters.
