AFLSE Newsletter for Current and New LSE students No. 3

Dear Reader,

This is our 3rd newsletters for students heading to the LSE this fall.  We have had four new locations for Bon Voyage parties announced since the 2nd newsletter namely Houston, Dallas Fort Worth, Miami and Denver.  Sign ups for all remaining parties are below.

There seem to be three main practical issues students have to grapple with, Visas, Banking and Accomodation.  We have discussion goups for each of these at our companion facebook site for you.  Please check "LSE US Students Fall 2009" at Facebook for advice and contacts.

AFLSE has an arrangement with Lloyds Bank which allows for you to open your account while still in the United States to facilitate transfers and to avoid complicated account opening requirements in the United Kingdom.  If you open your account with Lloyds by clicking through on our website www.aflse.org (see news items) we will make you a gift of a one year student membership of the AFLSE

	AFLSE Seattle: New Student Bon Voyage Event Thursday, 08/20/09 at 9:00pm Alumni, friends, recent grads and future students are all welcome!

	AFLSE Dallas/Ft. Worth: Bon Voyage Party Thursday, 08/20/09 at 10:00pm At our Third Thursdays Mixer in August, we will be seeing four new students off to the LSE and, potentially, a few more returning students. This is a terrific opportunity to influence and encourage emerging brilliance!

	AFLSE Chicago: Bon Voyage Party for New LSE Students Tuesday, 08/25/09 at 8:30pm LSE alumni are invited to share their own LSE experiences and advice, and help make the transition easier for our future alumni.

	AFLSE Miami: Bon Voyage Party and Mixer Tuesday, 08/25/09 at 9:00pm The Miami area chapter is holding its annual Bon Voyage afternoon for new LSE students. Come and share your LSE memories and your advice with new students going to London. Bring a friend. All are welcome!

	AFLSE Cleveland: New Student Bon Voyage Picnic Wednesday, 08/26/09 at 6:00pm We look forward to welcoming any alumni/ae, as well as departing students and their families, as well as any spouses/significant others/partners, etc.

	AFLSE Denver: New LSE Student Bon Voyage Event Wednesday, 08/26/09 at 8:00pm Please join Denver Chapter LSE alumni and friends for our end of summer party where we plan to say "Bon Voyage!" to departing LSE students and meet and socialize with area alumni.
