AFLSE National Newsletter: September Events and AFLSE News
Dear Reader,
Welcome back from summer. AFLSE has a full set of programs planned by many of the major chapters as well as an eminent LSE professor speaking in New York this month.
AFLSE won its Challenge Grant from the LSE by encouraging a meaningful increase in the LSE annual fund giving from the United States. This will result in the first major support from the LSE to the AFLSE for the benefit of chapter events and national infrastructure. Thank you for your support.
Have you been frustrated by recruiters and potential employers that have only a vague knowledge of LSE’s global reputation? Does this stop your resume getting a second look? AFLSE has prepared a dense one pager on LSE you can attach to your resume that sets the record straight. Please feel free to download a PDF version for your job search letters. Please let us have feedback on this initiative.
On the events front, we are excited to have Professor Frank Cowell speak to a New York audience on September 14th. In addition to happy hours in New York, San Francisco, Washington DC, Boston, Los Angeles and Philadelphia this month, there is one last Bon Voyage event in Downstate Illinois. Details on all these events are provided below.
As you know we are always searching for ways to make membership of the AFLSE even more useful to you. Each month we highlight a benefit that our members have been using. This month it is our auto and home insurance program. Please let us know if there are other benefits you think we should be introducing. E-mail Leon Desbrow, VP Membership at aflse@desbrow.net
