AFLSE National Newsletter for February

Dear Reader,

In a difficult economic climate those of us interested in international affairs are welcomed to the 2009 Women's Foreign Policy Group Mentoring Fairs in Washington, DC on February 3 and in New York City on February 25.  Pre-registration is required so check out the details.

Other events of note in the coming month include:  The Boston Quarterly Leadership Luncheon on Wednesday, February 4, and a discussion on Hedge Funds and the State of the Economy in San Francisco.  In Washington, DC, the International Policy and Economic Lecture Series continues, with distinguished alumni Parag Khanna of the New America Foundation on February 11, and Robert Vickers, Jr, formerly with the CIA's Senior Intelligence Service on February 25.  (See below for links to all these events).

In addition there are a number of social activities.  After brutal weather in many parts of the country, we hope that February will be conducive to getting out to socialize and network at the mixers and happy hours organized by chapters including:  Boston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis-St Paul, New York, San Diego and San Francisco.  LOGIN to http://www.aflse.org to check out the dates of these and other events - which are regularly updated.  Click on the MEMBERSHIP link to ensure that you are taking advantage of all the benefits available.  If your membership has lapsed, be sure to join or renew for 2009!!
