AFLSE Los Angeles: January Newsletter & Upcoming Events
Dear Reader,
2009 is going to be an interesting year for AFLSE Los Angeles and we hope that you can join us in making 2009 as successful as 2008!
First, its important that we all stay connected so from now on the third Thursday of every month will be our informal drinks night. This is a chance to meet at different venues throughout Los Angeles and grab a drink with fellow LSE alums and their friends. Periodically, we'll host the drinks night with another alumni group to increase the opportunities for each of you to network and make new contacts in the LA area. So please mark your calendars and join us for drinks on the third Thursday of each month, starting on January 15th. That night, we kick off 2009 by heading to Zu Robata (a sushi bar/restaurant with a South American twist). Please RSVP at losangeles@aflse.org.
Second, to make it easier to stay connected and informed about our events and the latest news from AFLSE, we have created networking groups on facebook.com. The Facebook group will not only have current news about upcoming events, but it will allow each of you to have immediate access to all of the AFLSE LA members! Members can post news about events that might be of interest to other AFLSE members, job opportunities, information about charities and anything else that might be of interest to the group. Lastly, here are some more exciting events that we already have on calendar for January:
Thursday, January 15th at 7 p.m. -- Networking Mixer for LSE Alumni and their Friends
Sunday, January 18th at 8 p.m. -- Career Planning Workshop hosted by HBSASC.
Thursday, January 22nd at 6:30 p.m. -- Screening of "Laura" as part of the All Ivy Classic Film Series
Saturday, January 31st at 2 p.m. -- "Sing a Song of Sixpence" Pantomime Show
