Atlanta Holiday Festivities/Reservations Still Open

Dear Reader,

Tickets can still be purchased for the holiday concert and reception through Thursday, December 4.  The Atlanta LSE Chapter will join alumni of Oxford and Cambridge to celebrate the holiday season at a concert and reception Sunday, December 14 on the Emory University campus.

Alumni are invited to attend the Atlanta Celtic Christmas Concert, an Atlanta tradition, at 2:30 p.m. in the Schwartz Center for Performing Arts Emerson Concert Hall. Park conveniently nearby in the Fishburne Parking Lot on North Decatur Road.

This popular event features the rollicking high spirits and mystical beauty of Celtic and Appalachian music, dance, poetry, song, and story with Grammy winner Alison Brown, banjo; Joe Craven, fiddle; John Doyle, guitar and vocals; Risin' Appalachia and the Elders; The Buddy O'Reilly Band; Scottish pipers Henry Frantz, Fran Frantz and John Recknagle; Irish, Scottish and Souther Clog Dancers choreographed by Lisa Cregan O'Brien; and Kelly Stewart, harp.

The reception with wine and hors d'oeuvres follows the concert from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The reception will be held on the Emory campus at Plaza 1000, located at 1762 Clifton Road. The 1762 Building is next to the CDC on Clifton. There will be ample parking available.

The cost for AFLSE members is $25 for the reception and concert. The cost is $10 for those who wish to attend only the reception and $15 for those attending only the concert.

For non-AFLSE members, tickets are $35 for the reception and concert, $20 for the reception only and $15 for the concert only.
