AFLSE Holiday Season Newsletter
Dear Reader,
On October 24, the British Ambassador and his wife hosted a splendid reception in his residence, an event which attracted more than 250 AFLSE members and their guests. The Ambassador remarked on how pleasing and unusual it for him to host a reception which attracted so many young and lively people! Now we can look forward to chapter events in Atlanta, Chicago, New York, San Diego, San Francisco and Washington, DC all offering the opportunity to meet, socialize and celebrate the Holiday Season (see below).
In addition, two important lectures will be given by alumnae: in Washington, DC, on November 26, Dr Shireen Hunter will address the topic of relations between the Muslim World and the West; in New York City, on December 2, a reception will be held in honor of Professor Mary Kaldor, who will discuss her work at the LSE Centre for the Study of Global Governance.
