Brian Belski is chief U.S. sector strategist and head of the Sector Strategy team within the Investment Strategy Group. In this role, Brian guides institutional and private client investing across sectors. He is the lead analyst on research publications such as Sector View, Sector Note, Sector Snapshot, and Sector Chartbook.  Brian also oversees six equity Sector Strategy portfolios for Merrill Lynch’s Global Wealth Management division, including five client profile and one core (tactical) portfolio. In addition, Brian is co-chair of the U.S. 1 list.
Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Brian spent five years as chief market strategist for Piper Jaffray in Minneapolis, providing fundamental market strategy for both institutional and private clients.  Brian started his investment analysis career in 1990 with William O’Neil + Company/Investor’s Business Daily in Los Angeles.  He has also spent time as a strategist at RBC Dain Rauscher in Minneapolis and George K. Baum in Kansas City.
Between 1999 and 2005, Brian received Institutional Investor votes in multiple strategist categories and in 2004, was named the most accurate stock forecaster in Wall Street according the USA Today’s annual study.  Brian is frequently featured in financial print, radio and television mediums. He was also the monthly co-host of CNBC Squawk Box from 2002 to 2005.
