AFLSE: Program of Events for the Fall
Dear Reader,
A highlight of our upcoming AFLSE events is the British Embassy Reception, to be hosted by the Ambassador, Sir Nigel Sheinwald, in his residence on October 24th. As this is a Friday, it offers the opportunity for AFLSE members from out-of-town to have a great weekend in Washington, DC.
Also in Washington, DC, the Sri Lankan Ambassador will be hosting a reception for the LSE Global Real Estate Group on October 14th. LSE alumni are invited, but numbers are limited, so take this opportunity to sign up (see below). In addition, the DC Speaker series continues: Jeremy Hafft will speak on September 24th on the topic of China as a dominant power in the 21st century, and a panel of LSE alumni will be featured on October 29, to discuss the future of NATO after the Russo-Georgian Conflict.
In Los Angeles, The British Ambassador is also the Distinguished Speaker at a breakfast, sponsored by the British American Business Council, on October 2nd. LSE alumni are invited to this and also to a co-sponsored private showing of the Terra Cotta Warriors at the Bowers Museum on the same day.
In New York City, GOLD alumni (Graduates of the Last Decade) are invited to a tour of the Brooklyn Brewery, organized by the LSE Foundation for October 18. Also in New York, there are "Happy Hours", cosponsored with the New York Business Schools, as well as the Chapter's monthly networking 7 0'Clock Club on October 6.
Other chapters with upcoming Happy Hours are Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco. LOGIN to http://www.aflse.org and click on EVENTS to review the details for these and other activities as they are posted. While you are online, check on your MEMBERSHIP status to ensure that your AFLSE membership is up-to-date. This enables you to take advantage of the many benefits, including discounted pricing for many events and access to "member only" activities.
