AFLSE San Francisco - September Event
Dear Reader,
Hello there! I hope that you are having a wonderful summer.
August has been a busy month, with the Bon Voyage party and Professor Angell's talk.
The Bon Voyage party was held on August 7th, at the same wonderful British establishment, the King George Hotel. The pub-like atmosphere at Winston's Bar was a perfect lead-in for all new students about to embark on their LSE journey. This year, twenty-five or so local admits joined LSE alumni in the most pleasant of environments to meet their fellow students, to seek advice from "wiser" alumni, and to get a taste of British culture. We were also very fortunate this year in that we had the pleasure of welcoming the AFLSE National President, Mr. Leon Desbrow, to our event. What a treat for everybody!
On August 14 we welcomed Ian Angell, Professor of Information Systems, to the City Club of San Francisco to hear his thoughts on "The Obsessive Compulsive Neurotic Manager." The event was well-attended, with over thirty people participating in this lovely evening with such a lively speaker. Thank you, Professor Angell!
As Labor Day is on September 1 this year, a Monday, we are moving the First Monday drinks to the following Monday, September 8th. Please join us for a drink on September 8 for a relaxed cocktail at the Americano Bar of the Hotel Vitale. Meet new people, see old friends and make new business contacts in one of the hippest settings in San Francisco!
AFLSE San Francisco: First Mondays Monday, 06/7/10 at 9:30pm LSE alumni, recent grads, future students, and friends are always welcome! The first Monday of each month LSE alumni in the San Francisco area meet at 6:30pm. |
