AFLSE August National Newsletter

Dear Reader,

Welcome to the Alumni & Friends of the LSE in the US (AFLSE) and our monthly newsletter.

This will be the first time many of you are receiving our newsletter and we welcome you to explore the active world of the AFLSE at our website www.aflse.org where we have events listed as well as a host of other features such as mentoring on our finance and management consulting group pages (see below) and special discounts and benefits for members.

We are entering the busiest month of the year for the AFLSE city chapters. We have 21 events listed at our website for August.

There are ten bon voyage parties ( Boston, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Houston, Minneapolis, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Cleveland and Miami) where new students and alumni can mix in an informal environment and trade experiences and make new friends.

We hope that recent graduates will attend the Bon Voyage events both to meet each other and to help new students with advice. Did you attend a Bon Voyage party before leaving for London? Now is the time to support the new students. Please sign up on line for these events so that organizers can know who to expect to meet.

In addition to the bon voyage parties there are four exclusively AFLSE social events taking place this month where you have a choice of Shakespeare in the Park (Houston) or a cold one at a downtown bar (New York, Boston, Chicago)

Two LSE professors are our guests for alumni events one in San Francisco and the other in Boston. Alumni tell us that they welcome these occasions more than any other events, so please try to attend if you are at all close by. The better the response, the more professors will agree to address our groups.

In addition to the AFLSE events that are outlined below, there are five New York and Los Angeles joint events with other alumni groups that are on our calendar.
