AFLSE New England: Hot Summer, Cool Events, and Visiting Professors!

Dear Reader,

If we don't see you at Third Thursday on the 17th, have no fear: two major events are on the horizon for August.

On Monday 4 August, join us at the British Consulate for a reception to welcome students en route to the LSE. This Bon Voyage party has the same lovely view over the Charles River and across Boston as last year, and we are featuring traditional British foods, as well as the opportunity to reconnect with fellow alumni and make new friends. We have another special event on Thursday, 28 August, as LSE Professor Michael Cox joins us for a luncheon discussion on the topic of UK/US Approaches to Global Terrorism and more IDEAS. Michael Cox is Professor of International Relations, Director of LSE IDEAS, Associate Research Fellow, Chatham House, and holds several other positions. Professor Cox is the author or editor of more than 20 books and numerous articles, of which the most recent is US Foreign Policy.

The Leadership Luncheons will resume on 3 September, so book it now! We'll review the highlights of the past few months and solicit ideas for additional programming, including more events focused on climate change and economic development. Details and registration here.
