Almost all of us have had a bad boss. But some bosses stand out as exceptional -- not just for what they know, but how they nurture new leaders.
Over the last 10 years -- and more than 200 interviews -- Sydney Finkelstein has learned several secrets about leadership.
Those insights are shared in his new book, Superbosses -- a term used to reference leaders who transform entire industries and create new cohorts of leaders.
Finkelstein -- an LSE alum and the Steven Roth Professor of Management at Dartmouth College's Tuck School of Business -- will share these insights with the AFLSE DC chapter.
He will also sign copies of his new book at a networking reception following an interview and audience Q&A.
About the Speaker
Sydney Finkelstein is the author of Superbosses: How Exceptional Leaders Master the Flow of Talent. He holds the Steven Roth Professor of Management Chair at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, where he teaches courses on Leadership and Strategy and is the Faculty Director of the flagship Tuck Executive Program.
Finkelstein has published 19 books including Why Smart Executives Fail, which was a #1 bestseller in the US and Japan. He is a three-time nominee for the Academy of Management’s Terry Book Award, the most prestigious such honor in the field. Finkelstein has also published more than 80 articles for outlets including the BBC and the Harvard Business Review.
Finkelstein earned his Bachelor's degree in Business from Concordia University; his MSc in Economics from The London School of Economics and Political Science; and his Ph.D in Strategy and Leadership from Columbia Business School at Columbia University.
