Reminder: AFLSE Boston Lecture and Reception with LSE Professor John Van Reenen - Tuesday, May 6th

professor of Economics and Director of the Centre of Economic Performance.

Professor Van Reenen will be speaking on the topic of "Boss-onomics: The Economics of Bad Bosses"

The reception opens at 6:30pm and will include wine, beer, softdrinks and snacks.  The lecture follows at 7:15pm.

The event is free for AFLSE members and their guests/$10 for non-AFLSE members (cost is per person attending).

The Oxford/Cambridge and St. Andrews Societies of New England have been invited.  Alumni of other UK universities are also welcome to attend.

About Professor John Van Reenen
John Van Reenen has been Professor of economics at the London School of Economics and Director of the Centre of Economic Performance (Europe's leading research centre for applied economics) since 2003. He is the winner of the 2009 Yrjö Jahnsson Award awarded to best economist under the age of 45 “who has made a contribution that is significant to economics in Europe”. The prize is the most prestigious award in European economics. He is a fellow of the British Academy, the Econometric Society and the Society of Labor Economists.

Professor Van Reenen has published over fifty articles on all areas of economics but with a particular focus on the causes and consequences of innovation. His recent work investigates why there are so many "bad bosses" in all areas of the private and public sectors and what can be done to increase management quality and productivity.
