Talk and reception with Dr. George Lawson, LSE Associate Professor in the International Relations department.
The Chicago AFLSE is hosting a presentation and reception in honor of Dr. George Lawson, Associate Professor in the International Relations Department at the LSE on Thursday, November 21st, 2013 from 5:15 - 7:15pm. The gathering will be held at Chapman and Cutler, LLP, 111 W. Monroe, Chicago, IL 60603.
Dr. Lawson's theoretical work revolves around the synergies between historical sociology and international relations. He is the convenor of the BISA-funded working group on Historical Sociology and International Relations (www.historical-sociology.org). Dr Lawson's empirical research focuses on processes of radical change including revolutions and democratisation. Presentation on "How the Values of America's Founding are Relevant for American Workers Today."
An invite from LSE alumus Jerome Braun: "the meeting I have organized for Monday, November 11, 2013, people can start coming in at 5:30pm to socialize, and we can have the meeting from 6:00 - 8:00pm to discuss present-day politics and how this relates or doesn't relate to labor issues and working-class issues in general, and perhaps even to come up with political ideas that hopefully would have some relevance for the next election season that will start in about a year."
The meeting will be held at the conference room of the law firm of Korey Cotter Heather & Richardson at 20 S. Clark, Suite 500, Chicago, IL.
