TONIGHT 6/17: LSE Houston Area Alumni and Friends are Invited to a Reception and Talk
Dear Reader,
The Oxford Alumni Society has extended an invitation to the LSE Alumni to attend a reception and talk by a Distinguished Alumnus from Oxford University, Brian Wilson (PPE, Pembroke College 1948).
Brian Wilson's passion and generosity has led him to establish the University of Oxford initiative to commemorate Senator J. William Fulbright. Fulbright was a Rhodes Scholar (Pembroke 1925) and one of Oxford's most distinguished alumni, whose vision for better international understanding is implemented on a continuing basis in the Fulbright Program of Academic Exchanges.

Brian will speak about the importance of Senator William J. Fulbright's contribution to America’s short-term and long-term international relations.
Brian’s career took him all over the world, from Malaya to Malawi, primarily developing systems of measurement for trade and industrial purposes and working as a Chief Statistician with the European Statistical Office and other organizations. In retirement, Brian has been the Branch Treasurer and Secretary of the English Speaking Union, the Royal Commonwealth Society, and the Crossroads charity.
