AFLSE Careers and Networking has a new position offered by an alumni:
Global Client Finance (GCF) is the department within Mediabrands tasked with financial management of the Global Clients. These include Johnson & Johnson, Microsoft, MasterCard, XOM, Unilever, Brown-Forman, Coke and others. The primary goal of this department is to drive increased Global Client profitability and revenue across the Mediabrands companies. GCF leads the compensation negotiations, introduces innovative compensation models where possible and provides global financial leadership. GCF also plays a critical role in new business pitches with respect to compensation and operational questions. Mediabrands is a global network and GCF frequently interacts with the global markets. Global Client Finance is also responsible for regular reporting of Client Profitability and support for the Mediabrands Global CFO on various operational initiatives.
Responsibilities
· Support team in the management of the Global Clients
o Preparation for compensation negotiations, Reporting on media rebates (AVBs) in the global markets, contract development (with legal), profitability analysis and reporting, contract maintenance and client required reporting
o Support Business Leads or Directors on adhoc initiatives
o Work with Directors on the financial portion of new business pitches including: RFP responses, pitch budget, compensation model and contract
o Collect and analyze financial information from global markets, review with mangers and determine proper courses of action and follow ups
o Source data as needed from various financial systems and create ad hoc analyses
Skills Profile
· Strong analytical skills with a very strong level of attention to detail
· Accurate, curious and efficient in work
· Excellent communications skills, both spoken and written
· Capable of working within a high pressured environment in which the work flow is often unpredictable and requires a sleeves rolled up approach, particularly during key busy periods (e.g. year end and planning periods, new business pitches)
· Excellent time management skills with an adaptable/flexible attitude
· Genuinely interested / committed to developing a long term career within the international media sector
· Experience working in a professional services environment with a focus on achieving and delivering the best for our clients
Soft Skills & Aptitude
o 1 - 4 years of work experience including relevant internships
o An even-keeled demeanor that conveys professionalism and seriousness
o Curious and inquisitive individual with an open, challenging and engaging approach
o Tolerance for ambiguity
o Collaborative, team orientated
o Ability to balance the need for strategic thinking with the need to deliver
o Strong writing skills and ability to organize thoughts in a clear and concise manner
