Also, spaces are still available for the AFLSE Speakers Event the following week:

The Washington DC Chapter of the AFLSE will host Andrew Sharpless, CEO of Oceana, for a presentation entitled "Save the Oceans: Feed the World"

World population is expected to reach 9 billion people by 2050. By the same time, it's projected that humanity must increase food production by 70%. Yet, as terrestrial resources become increasingly limited and global fish catch continues to decline, an obvious question arises: How will we feed our growing population?

In this session, Andrew Sharpless will explain how saving the oceans may be the answer. Mr. Sharpless will discuss how a fully productive ocean can benefit both the environment and humanity, how it can responsibly feed 700 million people a day, and what it will take to get there.

Wednesday, September 26th, 2012 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.

Mayer Brown LLP
1999 K Street, NW
Washington, DC

Free for AFLSE member and one guest of member/$10 per person non-members and additional guests. Click here to RSVP or at http://www.aflse.org/store.html?event_id=1815
