AFLSE DC Volunteering Registration

Registration Open!: The DC chapter of LSE Alumni and Friends will be sending a team of volunteers to participate in the Hands On DC Work-a-Thon. Friends and family welcome.

Each spring at Hands On DC's annual Work-a-thon, over 2,000 Hands on DC volunteers from across Washington, DC spend one day working in approximately 30 DC public schools on basic improvement projects such as painting, cleaning, landscaping, and special projects like rehabilitating playgrounds and wiring classrooms for Internet access.
Date/Time: Saturday, May 19th, 2012. Volunteers will arrive at schools at 9:00 and work on projects taking a break for lunch as a group. A celebration party with the other teams/locations will take place at a location TBD later that night.
Location: The LSE Team will most likely be placed at Booker T Washington School, a five minute walk from the U Street Station on the Yellow/Green Lines. Project will include landscaping and painting projects.
Friends and family including children ages 12+ are welcome to join.
