AFLSE members are invited to a reception in Washington D.C. hosted by Philip Barton, Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy, featuring special guest LSE Pro-Director Stuart Corbridge.

On Tuesday, April 17th, 2012 AFLSE members are invited to a reception hosted by Philip Barton, Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy featuring special guest LSE Pro-Director Stuart Corbridge. Professor Corbridge will update us on recent activities and developments at the LSE. The event will take place at the Deputy Head of Mission's residence in northwest Washington D.C.. Light hors d'oeuvres and wine/beer will be provided.

Date/Time: Tuesday April 17th, 2012 from 6:30 until 8:00pm

Cost/Registration:
Cost is $15 per person attending. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and wine/beer are included. This event is currently open to dues-paid AFLSE members only. 
Each AFLSE member may buy no more than two tickets (one for the member and one for a guest).  Click here to buy tickets and RSVP.

All attendees must register in advance, providing their full names and names of their guests. Registration will close on Wednesday April 11th, 2012. Space is limited.

Directions:

Driving - Edgevale Terrace is located off Massachusetts Avenue at 30th Street. Approaching from Dupont Circle, cross over Rock Creek Parkway, turn right at the second set of lights on to 30th Street. Edgevale Terrace is the second street on the right, and 2934 is the second house on the right. It is a quiet residential street with unrestricted parking.

Transit - Edgevale Terrace is reachable via the N2 or N4 busses from Dupont Circle.

About Corbridge, Stuart(Professor) - Pro-Director
Stuart Corbridge is a Professor of International Development and a member of the Court of Governors and Council. As Pro-Director, his major areas of responsibility include the promotion and development of the School's external activities and relations, strategic alliances, research and academic innovation, and alternative income streams. He serves as Chair or is an active member of the principal committees in these areas. His academic research is focused on governance issues in eastern India, the political economy of international development, and the history of development thought.
