Happy Holidays from AFLSE Philadelphia and our Next Event- 1/19
Dear Reader,
Happy Holidays! Our next event will be in the new year- a happy hour on Thursday, 1/19 from 6-8 p.m. I hope that you can join us. The information is provided in the link below.
I’m glad you receive our chapter newsletters! While we have a strong LSE group, I know we can do a better job planning events and get- togethers that interest you. I would like to hear from you on any suggestions that you may have.
Every year we have the following events:
· Bon Voyage party for new LSE students
· Bi-monthly Happy Hours
In the past we have also had:
· Lectures
· Holiday parties
· Soccer Watching
· Wine Tasting
I would also like to encourage you to join AFLSE if you are not a member. While you don’t need to be a member to get the AFLSE newsletter or to participate in many of the Chapter’s activities, your membership helps support these activities and offers important benefits to you. For example, as a member, you can:
· Update your member profile and stay connected!
· Use the alumni directory
· Join the AFLSE LinkedIn group
· Join the new Career and Networking group and receive job listings from LSE alumni. You can read about that group here: www.aflse.org/article.html?aid=1587
There are also groups you can join to connect with LSE alumni in various fields. These groups include:
· Education, Finance, Government/Intergovernmental, Legal
· Management Consulting, Media, Not-for-profits/NGOs, Real Estate
You can read about other benefits here: www.aflse.org/benefits.html. These include discounts on The Economist and Fortune, group rates for insurance and membership at prestigious clubs such as The Princeton Club.
Thank you very much and enjoy the Holiday season! I hope to see you in January!
Cheers,
Moira Conway
