[DATE CHANGE] AFLSE Washington, DC: Trip to the National Museum of Health and Medicine
Take a journey through 150 years of American military medicine with your fellow LSE alumni.
Sunday, August 2nd (Please note the date change)
1:00PM
National Museum of Health & Medicine
2500 Linden Lane
Silver Spring, MD 20910
To kick off August, the AFLSE D.C. is stepping outside our familiar Smithsonian haunts to visit the National Museum of Health & Medicine, which tells the story of the relationship between military and civilian medical advances and how one influences the other.
Current exhibits include a history on Walter Reed, the Army Major and medical researcher whose name has been given to the nation's premier military hospital, and the post-mordem on President Abraham Lincoln by Army surgeon Charles Leale. This is a chance to learn about a little-known chapter of American history in a new area of the DMV.
There is no cost for this event, but registration is required. Please register using the form on the left side of this page.
