AFLSE Washington, DC:  250th Anniversary Trip to the National Museum of African American History & Culture

Learn about U.S. history from the African American context with your fellow LSE alumni.

This year, Washington D.C. is rolling out the red carpet to celebrate the 250th anniversary of American independence. The AFLSE D.C. will be honoring this anniversary with a series of events throughout the remainder of the year, starting with a trip to the African American History Museum.

Alumni will visit the "Double Victory" exhibition, where they will learn about the role of African Americans in the United States military, starting with the Revolutionary War. If time and interest remain, the group will also visit the "Slavery and Freedom" exhibition, which examines the founding of the United States through the lens of its slavery history.

There is no cost to this event, but registration is required. Please register using the form on the left side of this page. This event is currently limited to 25 participants due to the museum requiring timed passes for groups; those who register beyond the initial 25 will be placed on a waitlist.
