This December, Ankita Mukhopadhyay, filmmaker and 2015 LSE alum in History of International Relations, will be screening her short film Far From Home as part of its Oscar campaign for Best Documentary Short Film.
Far from Home is the story of Samira Faizi, an Afghan refugee who fled to India in 2021 and is now grappling with a limbo situation, as violence against Muslims increases in India. The film touches upon issues of immigration and refugee rights. The film was funded by the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting. Emmy-winning producer Brent E. Huffman is the film's producer and Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah is the Executive Producer. Following the screening, there will be a Q&A with Ankita as director.
Attendance is free, but those interested will need to RSVP for the event at the following link: https://partiful.com/e/1cwAQA4ohRuxYyWZEB4b.
