AFLSE Twin Cities:  LSE Global Networking Night

Wednesday, May 21, 2025
6:00-8:00pm

6309 Cambridge Street

St. Louis Park, MN  55416

This one-day event series is an opportunity to bring LSE's dynamic alumni community together to share career advice, make connections with each other and build up their networks.  As with recent similar events, we are also inviting alumni from other schools who are members of Twin Cities Alumni Network.  We hope you will join us for this LSE event!  Feel free to bring along a partner, colleagues or friends who might enjoy the evening with us.

If you haven’t been to Dampfwerk you might want to check it out at this event. We held other events there in May and October last year. There will be a $10 cover charge and cash bar.

As with our past events, we will host a special guest to discuss a current topic of interest.  In a concerted effort to put "Global" into our "Networking," we are delighted to be joined by Tom Hanson, a former U.S. Foreign Service Officer with the Department of State.  Tom is current Chair of the Minnesota Committee on Foreign Relations and as Co-Chair of the Minnesota International Business Council.  For more information about Tom, see below.  Tom will discuss US foreign and economic policy four months into the Trump Administration; how other countries are reacting; and prospects for reconciliation or escalation in some of the world's hotspots, including Ukraine, Gaza, Iran, Taiwan, and now Kashmir.

Please RSVP for this event on the left. When RSVPing, please leave your organization and job title, or field of interest if you are a job seeker. Please also include your LSE course and year. Contact minneapolis@aflse.org with any questions.

More Information on Tom Hanson:  Tom's diplomatic postings included East Germany, France, Norway, the Soviet Union, Sweden, and the former Soviet Republic of Georgia.  He also worked on the Foreign Relations Committees of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, and served as Director for NATO and European Affairs at the Atlantic Council in Washington, D.C.  Tom is currently Diplomat in Residence at the Alworth Institute for International Affairs at the University of Minnesota – Duluth and teaches diplomacy at Carleton College.  .
