About Professor Matthew Jones
Matthew Jones is Professor of International History at the LSE, where he served as Head of Department between 2017 and 2020. Professor Jones is the author or co-author of six books and specializes in US and British foreign and defense policy, decolonization in South East Asia, and nuclear history. He is the Cabinet Office official historian of the UK strategic nuclear deterrent and in that role has so far published two volumes in this series, covering the period between 1945 and 1970. He is now working on a third volume dealing with period between 1970 and 1982.
