LSE has a long and proud association with the USA – from the brilliant students and alumni who form part of its fabric to The Rockefeller Foundation, one of LSE’s earliest (and current) major philanthropic supporters, whose association with the School began almost 100 years ago. The American Fund for LSE enables the School’s 20,000 alumni in the USA to celebrate their pride in LSE by contributing to its future through philanthropic support.
As US LSE alumni you should be proud of the part you have played in unrestricted annual giving in 2015/16: 45 per cent of the total income came through gifts made to the American Fund. By participating together as philanthropic supporters of the School, you have done far more than set a new record for annual giving at LSE: you have demonstrated your faith in the School’s future. You can read more about the contribution US alumni have made on pages 14-15 of the Annual Fund report to donors.
For the 2016 Michaelmas Term Appeal, the American Fund is inviting alumni and friends to support the Centre for Women, Peace and Security. The Centre, the first of its kind in Europe, aims to combat impunity for the sexual violence that destroys lives and communities, threatens sustainable peace and development, and destabilises society. You can also support other areas of LSE, in keeping with the School's strategic priorities: strategic initiatives, student support, teaching and research excellence, student life, or an academic department.
