AFLSE DC November Newsletter



The AFLSE DC Chapter Happy Hour will be held on the third Tuesday this month. We hope to see all recent alumni and their friends back to join us again, or coming for a first time this month. Details:

Date/Time: Tuesday, November 15th, 2011 from 6:00 - 9:00pm

Location: Vapiano, 1800 M Street Northwest, DC

Please save the date for the AFLSE Chapter Holiday party which will be held from 5:00-8:00 on Saturday December 10th at Napoleon Bistro and Lounge. Online registration will be sent out in upcoming weeks.

Here’s how you can get involved: 

1. Join the new Careers/Networking group

We have created a new AFLSE Careers and Networking Group on the AFLSE site at If you are interested in receiving regular job announcements and networking opportunities, please join this group by logging into AFLSE, going to the group page, and selecting the join group option.

2. Send in Job Postings
We are going to be sending new group members information about open job positions and networking and mentor opportunities. We need alumni to commit to contribute positions at their companies to the group. Any available job positions and your company or other should be emailed to

3. Serve as a career contact for your company/industry
We are also looking to put together a listing of volunteer AFLSE members, who are willing to assist alumni seeking positions in their companies.  If you are interested in serving as a career/networking point of contact for your company (or a company that they previously worked at but still have contact with) you should email with your name, the name of your company, your email address, and your company's careers website if available.
