AFLSE Appoints Beth Halpern as its President Elect
AFLSE President, Leon Desbrow, is delighted to announce that Beth Halpern has agreed to be nominated to succeed him as President of the Board. The election will take place at the April 2009 Board Meeting.
Beth Halpern received her M.Sc. in Public Administration and Public Policy from the LSE in 1998. She joined the AFLSE upon her return to the US and began to serve on the Scholarship Committee in 2000. Since 2001, she has been a member of the AFLSE Board and has co-Chaired and later Chaired the Scholarship Committee. Beth received her B.A. from Smith College in 1996 and her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2004. She is an attorney with Hogan & Hartson in Washington D.C.
