As alumni and friends of the London School of Economics, you know that LSE is the premier global university dedicated to excellence in the social sciences. To ensure that LSE remains a leader of intellectual thought, it is crucial that our facilities and resources reflect the academic excellence for which LSE is renowned. However, in today's climate of shrinking government support in the UK as well as the US, only 18% of the School's total income comes from public funding. The Centennial Fund plays a critical role in enabling LSE to maintain and enhance its high standards of teaching, research and academic achievement. The trustees of the LSE Centennial Fund determine appropriate designations for all gifts with a keen understanding of the School's priorities.
