First AFLSE Custom Mentoring Services Launched

Financial Services Group and Management Consulting Groups

AFLSE is delighted to announce that the first mentoring services have been launched at the Financial Services and Management Consulting Group web pages (accessed from the Chapters and Groups tab). A total of 33 mentors from 13 firms have helped start this initiative. The breakdown is 19 people from 4 prestigious investment banks for make up the first mentors in the financial services group and 14 management consultants from 9 of the best known consulting firms.

Mentoring services are available to all paid up members of the AFLSE including student members. The service is designed to assist new entrants to the job market from LSE understand better the culture of each firm to ensure their interests and aptitudes are well matched. For those already in industry, the service can help discussions about changes in direction or insights into advancement.

The service is not designed to provide job leads. Mentees should be conscious that a number of very senior people have agreed to join the network to help others from LSE. It is critical to the success of the program that mentees take the lead in the relationship but check with the mentor on his time availability.

If you would like to be a mentor in either of the programs already launched or in a further special interest group, please be in contact with the chairperson for that group at the email on the group’s web page.

If you would like to be a mentee, you will need to be a member of the AFLSE to review the list. Sign in using youre email address and password, go to your group web page (under Chapters and Groups) and double clik on the Mentor link on the left hand side of the page. You can contact the mentor of choice through the e-mail address at their personal entry.
