Mitch Glavin (1988)
Mitch obtained a M.Sc. in Public Policy and Public Administration (concentration in Health Planning and Financing) from the LSE in 1988. After LSE, Mitch completed a master's degree at the University of Chicago's Harris School of Public Policy and received a Ph.D. from Brandeis University's Heller School for Social Policy and Management.
After completing his doctorate, Mitch worked as a Senior Research Associate in the Program Evaluation Group at the Schneider Institutes for Health Policy, Brandeis University. He then served as the Director of Strategic Research and Technology for First Trust Financial.
Currently, Dr. Glavin is an Assistant Professor, Department of Health Care Administration, Stonehill College. He has published on a broad range of health care topics, including the care production process in hospitals, organizational strategies to reduce medical errors, escalation in health care spending, and the withdrawal of HMOs from participation in Medicare contracting. In addition to his academic work, he also serves as a consultant focusing on policy and strategy analysis for clients in health care, finance, and government.
