Scott Barrett received his PhD in economics from the LSE in 1989.
A year before graduating he joined the economics faculty at the
London Business School. In 2000, he became a professor at the Johns
Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies in
Washington, DC. In 2009, he will be joining Columbia University’s
Earth Institute and School of International and Public Affairs.
His special subject is “saving the world.” He is the author of
Environment and Statecraft: The Strategy of Environmental
Treaty-Making (paperback, 2005) and Why Cooperate? The
Incentive to Supply Global Public Goods (2007), both published by
Oxford University Press.
He says he would not have been able to attend the LSE were it not
for the AFLSE scholarship.
