Alex attended LSE 2005-6 and completed a M.Sc. in Development Studies.
Alex graduated from Indiana University with majors in economics and
East Asian languages and cultures and a minor in mathematics. He has
studied Mandarin Chinese in Beijing, China, and Spanish in Valencia,

to alleviate the effects of extreme poverty. He has pursued this
through work at the Economist Intelligence Unit in Beijing, the United
Nations Development Program in China and with a small village
community in rural Yunnan Province developing an eco-tourism lodge.
After finishing in London, he anticpates spending time offering hands-on
poverty-relief assistance in a locally-focused organization before bringing capital
together to start an independent group focusing on rural human development.
