AFLSE San Diego: Global Day of Vounteering
AFLSE San Diego invites you to join us to support a beach cleanup to protect the environment.
Join us on February 17 from 9:00am - 11:00am to support a beach cleanup with Surfrider San Diego. Many hands will make light work at this community event! We will be volunteering our time to protect the environment by removing trash from our coastline. In addition to cleaning the beach, Surfrider can use the data you collect to influence laws that reduce pollution at the source! We hope you join us for this special day of community service.

9:00 - 11:00 am
Moonlight State Beach
Encinitas, CA 92024
Registration is required for this event: Surfrider Foundation: Moonlight Beach Cleanup
E-mail chapter leaders at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions. Please contact chapter leaders at this email if the event registration has filled up. The chapter has reserved additional spots.
Please meet us at the blue Surfrider tent, which will be located north of the restrooms, near the volleyball nets. Free parking lot located at the corner of 3rd St. and C St., as well as on-street parking in the vicinity.
WAIVERS - All volunteers that have registered online (or parents/guardians of those under 18) have already consented to the waiver during their registration process. If you are bringing any guest that have not signed up using the same link, they can register upon arrival, during the check-in process.
Check-in - Once you arrive, please check in by scanning a QR code at the Surfrider station. This is a separate step from registering and is especially important and required for those interested in receiving confirmation of their community service.
Supplies - All cleanup supplies will be provided; however, we encourage volunteers to bring their own (gloves, trash grabbers and a reusable bag to collect trash) if they have them, as our supplies are limited and can sometimes run out.
Please bring your own water in a reusable container if you'd like to have some during the cleanup. Please refrain from bringing any drinks or water in single-use plastic containers or wrappers, as we strive to make our beach cleanups as waste-free as possible.
Weather cancellation policy - If it is lightly raining, we will hold the cleanup. If there are heavy rains, we will cancel the cleanup. You will receive an email notification if this cleanup is canceled.
Attending this event at this location is your choice. Please do not attend an event if you have a fever or feel unwell, or if you have tested positive for Covid-19 or have been exposed to someone with Covid-19.
