Washington, DC: Folger Shakespeare Library Retelling of The Merchant of Venice

LSE alumni in DC are invited to attend the Folger Shakespeare Library's March 14th reading with Howard Jacobson for his retelling of The Merchant of Venice.

The Library has graciously offered a $5 ticket discount for all alumni.

Jacobson -- who is often referred to as the English Philip Roth -- is one of the first authors to publish a book with Hogarth's Shakespeare Series, in which today's most acclaimed authors write "cover versions" of Shakespeare's plays.

Jacobson's cover of The Merchant of Venice, Shylock Is My Name, has received glowing reviews in both the US and the UK.
