Spring Festival on June 9th

Under the aegis of the New Zealand Ambassador, the English-Speaking Union –Washington will hold its 2014 Spring Festival in the award-winning New Zealand Embassy, nestled between the British Embassy and the Vice President’s home. The Honorees will be Stacy Keach, the internationally known actor, and Edward Gero, the lead actor in many performances in regional theatres, as well as a principal supporter of the English-Speaking Union’s Shakespeare Competition for high-school students. They star as Falstaff and Henry IV, respectively, in the current production of Henry IV Parts 1 and 2 at the Shakespeare Theatre Company. They will be honored with The English-Speaking Union Prize for Excellence in the Spoken Word as we celebrate the 450th Anniversary of Shakespeare’s birth.
The English-Speaking Union–Washington is pleased to invite members of the Alumni and Friends of the London School of Economics to the June 9th event. New Zealand delicacies will be served, prepared according to recommendations of the Master Chefs of New Zealand. For the event, the New Zealand House of Wines has selected wines representative of the country’s great winemaking skills.
Admission is $125 per person. This admissions price for English-Speaking Union–Washington members is also extended to members of the Alumni and Friends of the London School of Economics.
