AFLSE Chicago - Chapter Profile

The Chicago Chapter hosts quarterly events and at least one event each year that combines academic, social and philanthropic components.

AFLSE Chicago offers various academic and social events that LSE alumni and friends can attend at least quarterly and hosts visiting scholars from the U.K. and London as often as possible, usually several times each year.

The chapter has had many successes including private social events hosted by the British Consulate General, several engaging speaker events featuring global economic advisor and LSE alumnus, David Hale, and cutting-edge access to U.S. presidential election predictions featuring Nate Silver.

One of the chapter's unique philosophies is to try to offer programming, at least once a year, that combines academic, social and philanthropic elements at the same event.  This is made possible through the generosity of our local LSE alumni, such as David Hale, as well as our supportive community collaborators.

The quarterly happy hours typically draw only a small group of attendees, and the chapter is always looking for volunteers to help with new event ideas!
