LSE Hosts Keynes vs. Hayek Debate
A good example of public lectures available from LSE is the Keynes vs. Hayek debate which was broadcast on BBC Radio.
Just one of the many interesting public lectures available from LSE addresses the current financial crisis. Just how do we get out of the financial mess we're in?
More than 1,000 people attended the BBC Radio 4 debate Keynes vs. Hayek hosted by LSE on July, 26. Over 460 people attended the debate and others were accommodated in areas where the debate was streamed live. The debate was broadcast on BBC radio at a later date.
The ideas of Keynes and Hayek, two of the great economic thinkers of the 20th century, were debated by modern followers of each school of thought. While Keynes advocated state spending, Hayek believed in tight debt controls.
